After finding the perfect location and building to house a large number of dogs, we spent the best part of 2023 preparing to take on the mission of making a big difference here in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, and surrounding areas. At the moment thereis a real problem with stray street dogs and unfortunately when it is dealt with, often time the cats and dogs are brutally posoined. Causing a prolonged, painful death.
After assessing the street dog situation here in this area of Mexico as well as without the need for the over as many sThe Lucky Paws Inn requires several things to keep our rescue animals safe and comfortable such as:

Meet Winnie! A Chihuahua Who Without Our Intervention, Wouldn't Be Alive Today!
Winnie was found covered in mange along with 2 other Chihiuauas on December 10th, 2023. By the time we returned with medication on December 13th, one of the dogs had already passed away.
We convinced the family who had the dogs, but kept them out on the streets, to let us take the 2 remaining little darlings and the rest is history in the making! This is Ms. Winnie (pictured here 25 days before and after her rescue) she and her packmate Foxy are living happily now at the Lucky Paws Inn!
